Caro started her professional career in 2015 in a renowned Brussels law firm. Since then, she has represented and advised a wide range of clients in the field of intellectual property rights (European and Benelux trademark law, copyright, right to image, neighbouring rights) anti-counterfeiting, media and entertainment law, market practices and unfair competition.
Caro has also done several on-site consulting projects with clients, which puts her in a very good position to identify clients’ internal needs and concerns, to the benefit of the legal quality of her work.
Caro has been involved in numerous legal proceedings before the Belgian and European Courts as well as the administrative bodies of the Benelux and EUIPO.
In addition, Caro has supported journalist and other “public watch dogs” in both criminal and civil proceedings, as well as during pre-publication checks. She assists both claimants and plaintiffs in finding the balance between freedom of speech and other fundamental rights.
Caro also lectures at the yearly IP Summer School at Downing College, Cambridge and at UCLouvain Saint-Louis Brussels.
Since 2022 Caro is consecutively mentioned as a Rising Star by Managing IP .
